NeoWorks
PLANNED LICENSING

Buy once.
Activate your machine.

The planned model is straightforward: a purchased licence activates NeoWorks on an allowed machine without a monthly subscription. Final legal terms will be published before release.

This page describes the planned licensing model, not final contractual terms. Device allowances, business-use rights and upgrade rules are still subject to final publication.
1. PurchaseReceive a licence entitlement.
2. Licence keyA key identifies the entitlement.

CORE RULE

Machine-based activation

A licence is planned to be associated with a machine activation rather than an ongoing subscription.

REINSTALLS

Reasonable recovery

The system should account for Windows reinstalls and hardware changes without forcing customers into unnecessary support loops.

PC REPLACEMENT

Deactivate and move

The intended user flow is to deactivate the old machine and activate the replacement machine within the licence allowance.

DEVICE COUNT

Defined by entitlement

Different purchases or Kickstarter rewards may allow different machine counts. The final allowance will be visible before purchase.

BUSINESS USE

Terms before launch

Commercial-use rights and business device allowances will be published clearly rather than implied.

UPGRADES

No surprise promises

The policy for future major versions will be stated before release. NeoWorks will not invent lifetime-upgrade promises here.

FUTURE ACTIVATION SERVICE

Prepared, not faked.

The website now reserves the architecture for activation, deactivation and licence-status services without pretending those endpoints are live.

/api/licence/activate

Future authenticated activation endpoint.
